This position provides procurement support to SATCOM commercial programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing KVH with products and services that are of maximum quality, minimum cost and within the needed lead time by identifying, evaluating and developing global suppliers.
Provides advanced, diversified and confidential executive-level administrative support in a fast paced, high tech environment to the CTO; and as needed to other engineering department members. Requires broad and comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of business operations, organizational policies, practices, and procedures.
Summary Perform setup and assembly procedures of optical fiber components.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare Component fiber by using mechanical strippers and cleave fiber using hand cleaver.
- Splice optical fibers and components using a fusion splicer to existing assembly work instructions
- Pack delicate components inside a coil bobbin
- Use lasers and outboard equipment.
- Measure basic splice characteristics and log data into a PC system
- Ensure proper documentation is completed
- Practice safe operating procedures
- Keep work area clean, and promptly report all safety hazards
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge: Soldering experience and PC skills desirable
Physical Demands: Exposure to and contact with fumes from solvents and acids, possibility of cuts from sharp tools, fibr slivers, burns from hot instruments and exposure to ultraviolet and laser light. Extreme hand eye coordination and care required when working with optical fibers. Extensive standing required.

The Controller is responsible for the management of the day-to-day functions of several areas within the finance department and works under the supervision of the VP, Chief Accounting Officer. The ideal candidate has strong technical acumen, public accounting and proven themselves in a fast paced, $200M - $500M public company with international subsidiaries.
Support the design effort of new products as it relates to calibration, test and debug. Lead in the transfer of products to production and for optic fiber gyroscopes, Navigation Systems, and Inertial Measurement Systems. Design and implement automated test facilities for end item functional test and calibration, consisting of in-circuit probes, data acquisition, multi-axis rate tables, thermal chambers, and vibration tables, including required interface circuits.
Opportunity for a Material Handler to join our team in Middletown, Rhode Island. Forklift experience preferred. In this position you will perform a combination of tasks to receive, store, and distribute material, equipment, and products for our satellite communications product line. This is a second shift position (Summer Hours = Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am and Fall Hours = Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm).
