Opportunity for a Material Handler to join our team in Middletown, Rhode Island.  Forklift experience preferred. In this position you will perform a combination of tasks to receive, store, and distribute material, equipment, and products for our satellite communications product line. This is a second shift position (Summer Hours = Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am and Fall Hours = Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm).

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or electric hand truck.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to shipping department.
• Opens boxes, crates, and other containers, using hand tools.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Uses barcode scanner to enter records.
• May drive vehicle to transport stored items to or from warehouse to plant.
• May prepare parcels for mailing.
• May maintain inventory records.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Recent Forklift experience preferred - will train
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Able to use computers for data input and retrieval

Physical Demands:

• Able to lift and/or move 40 pounds
• Walk about the manufacturing floor
• Long periods of standing
• Visual requirements include depth perception, color vision, and clarity of vision for distant (20 feet or more) and near (less than 20 inches) work
